I have good news and bad news. The good news: I made my deadline! The bad news: It's short and I don't know how well it came out.



Jounouchi would've bit his lip if it hadn't still be so sensitive from Kaiba biting it. So instead he just let his breathing tighten as tears began to well in his eyes. He felt Kaiba touch him again, gently.

Jounouchi batted Kaiba's hand away. "I said get your hands offa... offa..." Jounouchi was unable to finish his sentences as the tears that were welling began to fall.

Jono didn't know how long the pharaoh and the priest had been standing in silence without speaking. It had probably only been a few milliseconds. It felt like several years.

"Jono's wrists..." the Pharaoh began, eyes glittering.

"Wh-what about them?" Seth responded, trying desperately to keep his composure.

Atemu's eyes narrowed, still glittering. "Didn't I explicitly tell you not to hurt him?"

"I don't recall," Seth began and Atemu stepped forward.

"You lie," the shorter of the two declared. "I did tell you."

It occured to Jono that he really could run now. He could run and they wouldn't notice. He could get away...

He couldn't get away. Jono didn't know why, but he felt as if he couldn't leave.

He say the Pharaoh take another step forward. Maybe he imagined it, but Jono thought he saw the High Priest flinch...

"Wait," Jono called weakly. "Wait. Don't hurt him." He didn't know what would happen to Seth if he didn't intervene. He should've been able to be hungry to find out, but somehow, he wasn't.

Stupid Seth. Stupid, mean, evil Seth.

"Don't hurt Seth. He... It was my fault," Jono cried, causing Atemu to look at him oddly. Jono continued, mumbling, "I was bad. He had to... I was bad. I had to get punished, he..."


*winces*

It's Lethe's go now. I only hope I didn't screw anything up TOO badly...
