Kaiba/Jounouchi Round Robin Ficcing Community

Sorry for the radio silence, all.
We've run into a couple rounds where I haven't been able to get a reply from the author.
I'm contacting the next author up, lloydoholic, and hopefully we can get this ball rolling again.

This week yukiko_angel had issues that did not allow them to post their piece and has elected to skip.

Jounouchi rolled his shoulders as he walked into the main room of the warehouse. His opponent was already in The Cage, soaking up all the cheers from the large crowd and egging them on. From what he’d heard, the kid was an upstart, but a pretty good fighter.

Jounouchi grinned in anticipation. Just like in Duel Monsters, it was always more exciting to fight a worthy opponent.

His last fight wasn’t so evenly matched – it was a MMA-style fight some with a washed-up old man with something to prove. The fight only lasted five minutes, and only because Jounouchi was toying with the winded loser. Once he got serious, Jounouchi smeared that guy into the ground so fast that he didn't even break out in a sweat. It was lame, but he had to admit it was kind of fun... It kind of reminded him of his younger days. Some might say that he was a bully, but hey, money was money.

Tonight, they were set up to do some “boxing” and the managers wanted this fight to last a long time. With such a close match-up, the stakes were higher... and so were the profits.

Marching towards the battleground with a feral look on his face, Jounouchi smirked as the crowd reverently parted before him. Gamblers, gangsters and even some slimy business men - all of them feared and adored him. Even if he'd gotten a "real job" after graduating high school, he wouldn't have gotten this level of recognition from his occupation - Duel Monsters included.

As he hopped up into The Cage he could have swore he saw his opponent swallow hard.

This was going to be fun.

Jounouchi bounced on the balls of his feet in anticipation as the other guy flexed his biceps. The ref shouted "FIGHT" and they were off.

Immediately, the kid screamed towards him. He almost didn't dodge a heavy flying punch, but was somehow able to dance away.

The kid was pretty good.

But about twenty minutes later, the other guy was getting a bit desperate. The first half of the fight, he came hard and strong but in the end he really didn't have the endurance. Jounouchi quickly overtook him as the other's exhaustion set in, and after a particularly hard blow to the stomach, the little punk doubled over. At this golden opportunity, Jounouchi knocked him down on the ground and began pummeling his skull into unconsciousness.

Eventually the kid stopped moving and the ref pulled Jounouchi off of him. There was a line of blood seeping from his nose. He hardly knew what was going on from all the adrenaline coursing though his veins.

His manager congratulated him on his win as he was led out of The Cage in a daze. Some busty, bottle-blonde handed him a large cup of water and Jounouchi poured it over his head, letting the rivulets roll down his neck, down his bare chest and onto the floor. Cheers roared and money was greedily exchanged.

He had a fair number of bruises and scratches, but surprisingly, no broken bones this time. He would have more than enough time to get over them by his next fight, scheduled about two weeks from now. There was supposed to be this “unbeatable” fighter from the next town over. He’d have to see about that.

Until then, he could enjoy the hefty paycheck and the break he'd just earned.

Unwinding his hand wraps as he glided towards his "green room", Jounouchi ignored the flock of girls gushing around him. He never did pay them much attention; they weren't really his type. But then again, no girl was really his "type".

He closed the door, locking them out, and started to clean himself up.

I would rather people pass that having it perpetually stuck.
This is a group effort and needs to keep moving.

Fiddling around with the colors because I wanted to make eye candy a nice side picture... so. Does it look ok?
Hmm.

Anyway. I have an idea of what the picture will look like (see the page) except I *need* text.
Something incorporting the past and the future.
I thought of: "The past meets the future"... except that is too cheesy.

Any ideas?
