"What the hell is this?" Kaiba demanded.

Jounouchi snorted. "This is me learning how to 'shield' you, considering you think you're so special." He pushed him against the wall again and leaned forward until their faces were nearly touching, satisfaction creeping through him at Kaiba's apparent discomfort. 

"Get off of me," he snapped. Jounouchi scoffed in his face, tightening the grip he had on Kaiba's shirt. 

"You think you can threaten me like that? Make me watch my sister die for you and then tell me you don't fucking need me? Bastard," he hissed. His hand started shaking and his glare intensified. "That's not how it's going to work here. You see, Kaiba, you do need me. More than I need you, anyway. I can easily go back to fighting for money - I don't need to be your bodyguard. But I put your last one completely out of commission, so if I quit on you, you'd have to hunt around for another one, and you probably wouldn't get very lucky. See where I'm going with this?"

Kaiba glowered and clenched his teeth, not willing to admit that Jounouchi had a point. It was useless, anyway; Jounouchi knew he was right, he knew Kaiba wouldn't admit it, and he knew that Kaiba knew all of that.

"Answer the fucking question, moneybags, or I'll walk out that door before you can get anyone in here to try and stop me."

"Yes, I see where you're going with that," Kaiba snapped, his voice almost a growl. "You're right, you don't need to be here, I'm the one who has to have you stay more than you need to stay - are you fucking happy now? Satisfied? Or do I need to go on?"

"Very," Jounouchi said, sounding pleased with himself. "It's about damn time somebody got you to swallow your huge ego and admit you're wrong, and I'm pretty glad that I got to be the one to do it."

Kaiba glared at him darkly, his teeth gritted as he clenched and unclenched his fists. "And what, exactly, is that supposed to mean -"

"Don't think I'm above leaving," Jounouchi said, cutting him off, "Because I'm not, and I will. It would be smart if you remembered that." That said, he stepped back, giving Kaiba one final shove before fully backing off. He moved over to the table briskly and picked up a couple of the pieces of equipment lying there on their sides, turning them over in his hands as he examined them thoroughly. After a few more moments, he put them down again, digging through the pile determinedly.

"Now that we understand each other, I think it'd be a good idea to start testing these weapons."

It's a few words short of the 500 word limit...agh. But only a few. Hopefully it doesn't make too big a difference...I had a really hard time with this one. Dx

Oh my gosh, Paige. So I was rereading Joker's giftfic for you in another tab before I opened this, and I COULD NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE because you both had F-BOMBS LIKE EVERY OTHER SENTENCE. X3

And hey, you pulled it off really well! I liked the hostility in this; you could almost see the confrontation and the closeness and the anger and whatnot. And Jounouchi owning Kaiba was very well-done because it's been so overused in canon. It doesn't seem forced at all. ^^

The way that Jonouchi turned the tables on Kaiba was really well done. Kaiba really does need Jou more than Jou needs him. It's going to be interesting to see where they go from here.

:D Oh yes, I thought the story was in jeopardy since one author couldn't post. Anyway, oohhh despite being a short chapter, it really goes well with the previous one. Especially Jounouchi. I'm so glad he has something to fling back to Kaiba's face. Omg, I <3 cool!Jounouchi. Though I do feel bad for Kaiba.
